May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental, physical, and social health are linked. They impact each other. This is called the “mind-body connection.” There is no complete health without mental health. Many studies show that poor physical health can lead to mental health problems. These may include depression, low motivation, and anxiety. Poor mental health also can lead to physical problems. These may include chronic pain, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Slips and falls can happen to anyone. Hopefully, we’re able to get back up with little more than a bruise or a scratch. But as people get older, falls can have much more serious consequences. For older adults, falls are one of the leading causes of hospital stays and serious injuries.

During Black Maternal Health Week, Fidelis Care will team up with Northwell Health to co-host a webinar, “Awareness and Advocacy for Better Health Outcomes.” The webinar will highlight the importance of access to quality maternal health care, and explore the roots of maternal mortality among Black women.
